Effects and consequences of the covid crisis
Ukraine
Since the beginning of the Ukraine crisis in 2014, Volkshilfe has implemented several projects in Chernivtsi. Over the past six years, the focus of the joint work with the local partner Narodna Dopomoha Ukraine (NDU) has been on supporting the establishment of a new life in Chernivtsi on the one hand and on the qualification and labour market integration of women and refugees on the other.
The new Covid-19 reality is having a serious impact on these groups. The risks of psychological, social, health and economic disadvantage have increased significantly.
For this reason, the new focus is on combating the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our goals:
- Supporting beneficiaries to respond to the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown and reduce the impact on poverty.
- Supporting the health and well-being of beneficiaries in the Covid-19 situation and educating them about the Covid-19 vaccination.
- Contribution to reconciliation between Eastern and Western Ukraine through the exchange of best practice examples, as well as joint activities during and after the Covid-19 crisis.
