Emergency aid in Chernivtsi and Dnipro

The war leads to increased levels of anxiety and stress for many people. It intensifies psychological problems and tensions. Volkshilfe works together with psychologists and provides professional psycho-social counselling.

Furthermore, social workers advise the refugees to help them find their way around their new place of residence. Both legal issues and social activities for adults and children – painting courses, discussion groups, readings, self-awareness groups, handicraft courses and the like – are offered. As well as providing a distraction from everyday life during the war, these offer the opportunity to make new friends and socialise with others.

The project is funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation Programme.
